The trouble with newsflow is that it is often difficult to know how accurate it is (fake news, anyone?), and for those with investments, how it actually will impact markets. A New York Post opinion piece on the potential origin of COVID-19 (https://nypost.com/2020/02/22/dont-buy-chinas-story-the-coronavirus-may-have-leaked-from-a-lab) highlighted this for me today – and made me again reflect on the beauty of having an investment strategy that is not directly impacted by the vagaries of often confusing and disturbing newsflow.
